Gloria has worked in our lab since January 2012, and has become a valuable employee having learned various biochemical laboratory techniques including Western blots, powderizing and processing temperature sensitive brain tissues, sectioning, staining and imaging brain tissue, lab and freezer organization and preparation ofstock buffer solutions.


2010 – October 2011: UCLA Housing and Hospitality Services: Sproul Hall, Los Angeles, CA November Front Desk Staff: customer service skills to ensure comfortable living, liaison between residents and Office of Residential Life Staff for safety and security, Assisted in administrative tasks for Housekeeping and Maintenance Staff.

February 2012 Venice Family Clinic, Los Angeles, CA– Present
Dispensary Assistant, Assisting pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in dispensing prescribed medications to patients, Routine maintenance of inventory based on expiration dates for medications, understanding pharmacy operations in an outpatient clinical setting.

January 2012 – March 2012Global Medical Training, Managua, Nicaragua
Student Doctor, Student Pharmacist, Set up clinics and house visits in underserved communities in Nicaragua to provide healthcare for those in need, developo clinical skills to diagnose patients and collaboarated with medical professionals to confirm the diagnosis, dispense medication at the clinic pharmacy and provided student doctors with necessary medical supplies, interact with patients and local residents to spread awareness about health and preventative measures.

March 2011 – July 2011: UCLA UniCamp, Los Angeles, CA

March 2012 – Present Camp Counselor , Trained for 100+ hours to mentor children from underserved areas of Los Angeles through summer camp, Organize fundraising events to maintain a cheaper cost for children to attend camp, Lead the Fishing, Archery, and Nature Rotation and organized camp-wide activities for the campers.
